Activities at Avalon Resort

Activities

To make your stay more exciting, why not join one of the following activities at Avalon? The old legend of Avalon tells of nature worshipping and the spirit world. What better way nowadays than to get outdoors and get physical?

Mountain biking

The more sport minded guests can use our mountain bikes for a ride in the Waitangi Forest or along the climbing coastlines.

Swimming, kayaking, fishing

The beautiful Puketotora River at the back of our property is great for swimming: very clear water and a sandy bottom make a dive very inviting. Guests may also try their luck and go fishing for trout.
Otherwise take a kayak and discover the bends and currents in the stream, surrounded by sub tropical bush.

Golf

With a view from your cottage over the golf course, you may be tempted to go across the stream and hit the green.
Alternatively, stroll along the river and find your own golf balls! Take a look at our specials for Golf packages.

Walking Tracks

Weekly we organise trips to discover nearby walking tracks. We walk to the impressive Rainbow Falls, along the pretty coastline from Pahia to Opua or we climb the Saint Paulís Rock in Kaeo.

Put on your hiking boots and join us for a 2 hour walk through subtropical nature and enjoy the most amazing views of Northland.

Boat trips, diving, snorkelling

We can take guests out on boat trips ourselves to discover the beautiful Bay of Islands. Take sun block, swimming gear and you are ready for a truly amazing experience! Watch the dolphins and enjoy the scenery.

We also have a booking service, to help with bookings for other boat trips.
